Please see further information on the two types below. Guaranteed hours basis 1. Hours We are looking for staff who can work a minimum of 18.5 hours per week up to 30 hours per week during term weeks (35 weeks) The Post holder will be expected to be flexible to meet the needs of their role and be required to assist at Open evenings and Parents evenings as required. 2. Salary The salary range on a full-time/full year basis is 16,776 - 18,290 per annum. The actual salary range for working 18.5 hours per week, 35 weeks per year, including holiday pay, is 6,357 - 6,931 per annum. The actual salary range for working 30 hours per week, 35 weeks per year, including holiday pay, is 10,309 - 11,239 per annum. The annual salary is paid in 12 equal monthly payments on the last working day of each month. You will work for 35 weeks per year, however will be paid for 39.41 weeks per year. 3. Annual Leave As this is a non 52 weeks per year position; based on the hours of work and weeks worked per year, the pro rata salary is calculated to include additional weeks pay in respect of combined holiday entitlement. No holiday can be taken during term weeks. No Guaranteed hours basis 1. Hours There are no guaranteed hours for this arrangement. Hours may be worked to a maximum of 37 hours per week, by prior mutual arrangement, in order to meet business needs. There is no obligation on the college to offer work; neither is there any obligation on you as the employee to be available for work, other than at the dates and times which have been mutually agreed on each occasion, when the terms and conditions will apply. The Post holder will be expected to be flexible to meet the needs of their role. 2. Salary The salary range on a full-time/full year basis is 16,776 - 18,290 per annum. The hourly rate range is 8.72 - 9.51. 2. Annual Leave For each hour worked, up to a maximum of 37 hours per week, you will accrue holiday entitlement. A full-time employee on this salary scale is entitled to 22 days annual leave per annum plus bank holidays. On a pro rata basis this equates to a holiday entitlement of 13% per hour worked. Holiday entitlement will be calculated as a separate element of pay and will be paid three times a year in December, April and July. General 4. Pension The appointed applicant will be eligible to participate in the defined contribution pension scheme which is offered by Sparsholt College Services through the government NEST (National Employment Savings Trust) scheme. Sparsholt College Services, offers a 5% contribution to the pension and staff also pay 5%. However, staff can make higher contribution rates up to HMRC maximum thresholds. Probation All appointments are subject to satisfactory completion of a nine-month period of probationary service, during which time the individual will be expected to establish their suitability for the post. A formal review is conducted at the 3, 6 and 9 month stage. 6. Medical Fitness All appointments are subject to the successful applicant being medically fit to undertake the duties of the post. Completion of a medical questionnaire will be asked for and, in some instances, a medical examination may be necessary. 7. References Any offer of employment is conditional upon subsequent receipt of references that are satisfactory to the organisation. The organisation reserves the right to request references from any of an applicants previous employers and to seek written confirmation from third parties to confirm the reason for any gap in employment / self employed arrangement. 8. Induction All new employees are required to attend a corporate induction. The inductions are usually held fortnightly on a Monday and Tuesday, and new starters will commence their employment with the organisation on a Monday in the week of when an induction programme is running. All new starters are required to attend both days if they are appointed to one of the following job roles: Lecturer Instructor Instructor/Technician Assessor Pastoral Support Tutor Learning Support Assistant All other staff are required to attend the Monday.
